Focused Medicare Help

Help for the one situation
in front of you.

Self-paced Medicare workspaces for a single decision — not a full membership.

Independent. Plan-neutral. No commissions. A track helps you organize your own situation and questions. It never steers you to a specific plan or carrier.

Find your place

Choose only the amount of help that fits.

Most Medicare help falls into two extremes: a 33-minute SHIP session or a 45-minute sales pitch. A Guided Track fills the gap.

Do it yourself

Fast, but unstructured.

You research independently using government sites, articles, and tools. No cost, but no structure to make sure you've covered everything.

A Guided Track

Structured, at your pace.

You work through one Medicare task with a structured process, practical outputs, and Fern guidance when you need it.

Work with someone personally

Personal, but pricier.

You receive one-to-one assistance for situations that call for deeper expertise or ongoing personal support.

A Guided Track won't make the decision for you. It helps you organize the facts, understand the trade-offs, identify what still needs verification, and know when it's time to involve Medicare, your employer, SHIP, or another trusted expert.

Launching first in August

The first Guided Tracks arrive August 7–8.

Our first two Guided Tracks open the first week of August. Preview what's included now, and we'll let you know the moment each one is ready.

Why people don't wait

Why do this before something changes?

Most Medicare decisions get harder after a deadline, coverage change, or unexpected health event. A little preparation now can prevent rushed decisions later.

What one focused review may help you avoid

  • Missed enrollment or switching windows
  • Lifetime late-enrollment penalties
  • Unnecessary premium or prescription costs
  • Lost employer or retiree reimbursements
  • Coverage gaps between plans
  • Network or benefit changes discovered too late
  • Paying for broader consulting when one process is enough

What it may help you uncover

  • Questions you didn't know to ask
  • Costs worth comparing
  • State or federal protections worth verifying
  • Documents worth keeping
  • A clear reason to stay, change, or seek human help

No matter where you are.

Some people only need a single review. Some need ongoing guidance. Others simply want help organizing the questions. Choose only the amount of help that fits today.

Find the right place to begin.

Hazel can help you find the closest situation, tool, or Guided Track to start with. She points you to the door — she doesn't recommend a plan or answer the Medicare decision itself.

Track or membership?

Pick the amount of help that fits.

A track solves one situation. Membership is the broader place to keep organizing — and it includes the tracks.

One purchase includes a spouse or partner in the same household. A qualifying Guided Track can be credited toward membership when you upgrade within 30 days of Fern activation. (Extensions and add-ons excluded.)

However you begin, you're not on your own.

A track, a tool, or a membership — each one is a calmer way through the same decision. Here's what people ask before they start.

Good to know

Questions about Guided Tracks.

Is this a course?
No. A track is a guided workspace for completing one real piece of Medicare work — not a series of lessons to sit through. You move at your own pace and finish with something you can use.
What stays available after the Fern window ends?
Your track materials, worksheets, and anything you completed stay yours permanently. The 10-day Fern guidance window is the live-help period; the workspace itself doesn't disappear.
When does the 10-day Fern window begin?
It starts when you activate Fern — not at checkout — so you can begin the initial work first and bring in guidance when you're ready. Activate any time within 30 days of purchase.
Is a spouse or partner included?
Yes. A track covers your household — a spouse or partner can work through it with you at no additional cost.
Does The Clearing recommend a plan?
No. We're independent and earn no commissions. A track helps you organize your own situation and questions; it never steers you to a specific plan or carrier.
Can I upgrade to membership later?
Yes. Apply 100% of your track price toward a six-month or annual membership within 30 days of Fern activation.
What happens when another track becomes available?
You can buy any track individually, or move to annual membership, which includes current and future tracks released during your term.
Can I buy a track for a parent or another household?
Yes. You can purchase a track on someone else's behalf; they'll get their own workspace and Fern window for their household.
